Empower Phoenix Internship Program
An internship is a valuable, hands-on learning experience that allows students and emerging professionals to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting. At Empower Phoenix, interns work directly with our skilled therapy team to support the growth and development of children with a variety of needs, including developmental delays, motor impairments, communication disorders, feeding challenges, and sensory processing differences. Our population ranges from infancy through adolescence, with individualized therapy plans designed to help each child thrive in their home, school, and community.
Internship Requirements
To be considered for an internship with Empower Phoenix, applicants must:
Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited therapy, education, music, or healthcare-related program (speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or music therapy fields).
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Exhibit effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Be able to pass a background check.
Commit to the agreed internship schedule and duration.
Show an interest in working with pediatric populations and their families.
What to Expect from the Internship Experience
Interns at Empower Phoenix will:
Observe and assist licensed therapists in providing pediatric therapy services.
Learn to adapt activities for children with varying abilities and needs.
Gain experience with therapy documentation, session planning, and family education.
Participate in team meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Receive ongoing supervision, mentorship, and feedback from experienced professionals.

Administrative Requirements
Before beginning an internship, accepted interns must complete the following:
Submit proof of enrollment in an approved academic program or recent graduation verification.
Provide proof of current immunizations (including TB clearance and any required vaccinations).
Pass a fingerprint clearance and background check.
Provide a copy of current liability insurance (if required by your program).
Sign Empower Phoenix’s confidentiality and conduct agreements.
Complete any program-specific forms required by your academic institution.
How to Apply
To apply for an internship at Empower Phoenix:
Submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your interest in pediatric therapy and your preferred therapy discipline.
Include two professional or academic references with contact information.
Complete a Google Form for your therapy discipline.
Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview by the owner or lead therapist.
Final acceptance is contingent upon completion of administrative requirements and confirmation from your academic program (if applicable).
